Cowgirl Sass & Savvy
by Julie Carter (www.julie-carter.com)

About the Author:

Julie Carter is a cowgirl, start to finish. She was raised on a high mountain ranch in southern Colorado, worked the rodeo circuits in Colorado and later, New Mexico after moving to the state in the mid-80s. There she resided on a remote ranch in South Central New Mexico near where today, she is a full time staff writer for the Ruidoso News in Lincoln County, New Mexico.

She writes a weekly syndicated column, Cowgirl Sass & Savvy that is published in the Ruidoso News as well as a number of other publications throughout the west and southwest, Montana to Texas.

She is a member of the Southwest Writers organization and was recently accepted by Western Writers of America. Her new book is carried by the Hubbard Museum of the American West in Ruidoso, N.M. and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, Okla.

About the book

Cowgirl Sass & Savvy is a collection of cowboy word pictures painted with a wit that brings a unique point of view to cowboy life -- be it ranch wife woes, cowboy behavior, tales from the rodeo road or stories about the nature of the beast called “cowboy.”

The stories are true -- “you just can’t make this stuff up.” While the lifestyle and experiences are not unique to only her, Julie writes as a voice of those that came before her, as well as those that still live down a dirt road, far behind the cattle guard.

You don’t have to be a cowboy to enjoy the laughs within the pages of Cowgirl Sass & Savvy. The humor of human nature appeals to everyone and those in all walks of life find something to identify with the stories “from the ranch to the rodeo road.”

The short essays make it easy reading with no chronological ordered required. Start in the middle or at the back, the entertainment will be the same. While it may seem to be a “girl” type book it is not. Cowboys everywhere are finding themselves reading it cover to cover, when they think no one is looking, and then asking, “When is the next one coming out?”

For a first-hand, genuine look into the lives of cowboys and the women who love them, grab a cup and sit a spell. The pages of Cowgirl Sass & Savvy will give you the chance to see it all – as you have not thought to see it before.

Endorsements

"The word 'authentic' perfectly describes Julie Carter's essays on the

people and places she observes and writes about. She has been there, seen

it, tasted the grit and grain of life and captures it better than anybody."

W.C. Jameson, author 55 books including Billy the Kid: Beyond the Grave and his new novel, Beating the Devil.

I've been working with Independent Authors since retiring from New York publishing where I spent more than 25 years with Random House and the Time Warner Book Group.

Julie's book is the BEST I have seen in these past four years! Her writing is spectacular, her stories are witty, funny and gives you exactly what she promises.

I would highly recommend her book to anyone. This first edition could easily become a collectors dream. Julie is destined for greatness and you can be among the first to say, I bought the first printing of her first book!
