Really? The Greenland ice cap is 3000 meters (9,000 feet) thick. It's melting at the rate of 20 millimeters (less than an inch) per century, according to the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report. At that rate, it'll melt in a mere one and a half million years. And Antarctica, much larger than Greenland, is gaining - not losing - ice.

Oh, wait, perhaps Mr. Kutscher just meant floating sea ice. But melting of floating ice causes no rise of sea level. In spite of that, Mr. Kutscher asserts sea level will soon rise "at the rate of more than a foot per decade." Ahem, Mr. Kutscher, sea level has risen 400 feet since the end of the last Ice Age, 20,000 years ago. That's an average of 2 feet per century, or less than 2 and a half inches per decade. In the recent 50 centuries, the rate has been half a foot per century, much, much less than Mr. Kutscher's claims of "a foot per decade."

Why does the Rocky continue to bombard us with this ignorant nonsense? Mr. Kutscher and the rest of Environment Colorado seem unqualified to do simple arithmetic. I see Mr. Kutscher is a past president of the American Solar Energy Society. Now I understand what Kutscher is selling. What is the Rocky selling? Tax increases??

Comment on Global Warming.....

Who in the environmental and scientific community can refute that the global climate has repeated fluctuated over the millennium after the birth of earth in this solar system?
 
Since this process of global climate change has continued over several billion years without the interjection of the human element, who can dispute that the fluctuation of the earth's climate is a natural physical process that will continue despite any man's or agency's best efforts to intercede.
 
Despite the irrefutable fact that global industralization is creating an impact on the climate, the laws of physics and the universe will for now prevail.  Currently no environmental individual or agency has yet the knowledge nor the power to ulimately 
MESS WITH MOTHER NATURE!

Years ago, about 20, some are old enough to remember, scientists talked about the earth getting colder every year.  Someone figured how many million tons of gas the sun was burning every day;  figured the size of the sun and decided it was getting smaller every day and would soon burn up----the earth would then freeze solid.  I will admit it made more sense than global warming.  In fact on a cold winter day I even considered the sun was running out of gas myself.  You could see it was burning and maybe not getting any bigger-----anyone who had ever tossed a log in a fire place could think that way.
 
Well Al Gore isn't concerned about the ice age, he's worried about the coast lines.  Atlanta wants more water and Al says when the ice melts there will be way too much water.
 
Well, facts are,  the sun is NOT changing at all.  Amazing---the sun is burning more gas than all the gas in Arabia, Alaska and Venzuella total, every day.  Guess what ----- the God of the Universe that created the Sun and made it out of gas is running a Heavenly sized nozzel into the Sun for daily fill-ups and top-offs.  He's keeping the Sun the exact right size, and today we celebrate the birth of his Son.  Have an awsome Christmas and don't worry about the Sun or the ice.  The Lord is in control.  He will take care of it.   He has now for several thousand years without our help~~~~or Al Gore's.
 
Also, Al, don't worry about all the ice melting and world wide flooding.  The same God of the Universe is dropping new fresh snow on the polar frozen masses this very day and they are staying exactly the right temperature he wants them to be.
