Subject: What Is your school really teaching your child? by Geni Kay Junt

The following note was written by my daughter Geni Kay Hunt, in response to this story:

"At age 8, Michelle heard a story about polar bears facing extinction because of global warming. After crying herself to sleep that night, she resolved to help them as best she could.

She began holding lemonade stands to raise money for Polar Bears International & Feline Rescue, a local no-kill cat rescue organization.
Born a natural performer with a love of singing and acting, she soon decided the lemonade stands weren't raising enough money, so at age 9 she organized and put on a Children's Talent Show/Fundraiser, complete with silent and live auctions..." http://www.stillwatergazette.com/articles/2010/07/07/community/668commichele.txt

The person who sent this to me suggested it was child abuse. I answered, "It IS psychological abuse! If I were that child's parent, I'd file charges against the school. Will forward to my daughter...bet she'd agree!!!" Roni Bell Sylvester

Dear Momma,

I have been giving this matter a lot of thought.
What is interesting to me is the fact that this nation now goes out of its way to make everyone feel like winners, and that no religion, except Christianity, is wrong.
We told we must accept all people and ways of life. But, what's acceptable about schools psychologically damaging a child by putting these horrific ideas in their heads?
It is bad enough that they are brain washed by hearing over and over Christianity is bad, everything else is good yet all people are the same??
They go at a child by way of animals...like wolves, polar bears... making them feel helpless and vulnerable because they’re not able to help them.
We are called to be responsible for our actions, but children do not need to be sideswiped psychologically with things that are not theirs to feel guilty about. It is like telling children they are responsible for the horrific oil spill, and they’re responsible for it not being cleaned up and stopped. This is utterly ridiculous and cruel!
Where - when does this madness stop?
Children learn by example: open threats or the saying of " Do as I say, not as I do" causes a child to learn that they are not responsible for their own actions.
They should not to be subjected to this horrible brainwashing psychological abuse which goes on in our society; all in the name of making a better world and more peaceful world to live in.
When has America become a nation under the government?
I have experienced first hand being told I am a bad mother because I have not done the ways of the school's ideology of “what makes a good parent.” This caused some psychological damage and brainwashing in my child, by making my child think I am an unfit parent.
I think parents have a right to stand up and say, "NO MORE!"
Michelle was subjected to a one sided brainwashing which caused her to react with such extreme concern she cried herself to sleep. Then she thought of a way to help, and followed through with that thought; all for the sake of what she was told.
She, along with far too many children, are subjected to the coy/sly way the government uses to sneak into family's lives, and destroy the family unit.
Michelle, being a child who fortunately is not yet desensitized from life, was hit hard with the misleading education she got. What she was told, set a stage for her questioning her own...and her parent's beliefs. This in of itself is not right.
When does the madness stop?
Are schools trying to sell something they shouldn't? Shouldn't all sides of the spectrum be looked at first; by the children being taught and their parents, with objective opportunity to discuss and discern right from wrong?
Wouldn’t that be a better way to develop a person? To use their brain to solve problems...and not just willingly "follow along"?
Schools are to teach right from wrong by giving all sides of the coin...not one!
It’s become like a repetitive bad TV commercial trying to sell something that does not hold up.
Enough is enough!
