CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM
Once upon a time, Sue O'Brien (The Denver Post's editorial page editor from 1995 until her death from cancer in August 2003.) published my idea for Campaign Finance Reform.
As far as I ever learned, Sue's the only one who liked my idea.
To paraphrase myself, it goes like this:
One cannot hide their individual contribution under a veil of PAC, Union, 527 whatever.
All individual contributions to such must be identified, tracked, then added to that individual's individual contributions to one campaign.
When that individual's cumulative total reaches an agreed upon ceiling for that one campaign, that's it! Period!
Do you suppose its complete transparency is the why, entities that engage in sneaky, corrupt actions hate it?
If my idea were in place today, would there be any discussion what-so-ever about collective bargaining for government employed union members?
