Invocation Given at Weld County T-Bone Meeting

5-19-09

Our Beloved and Gracious Heavenly Father, Thou Who holds the world in Thy powerful and loving hands, give us the vision to see that our patriotic service is an attribute to God and Country, equal to service on the battlefield or in any line of consecrated effort.   Within the walls of this room we come to do faithfully and well that to which we have pledged ourselves.   And we ask you to give wisdom and understanding to those in our country who confuse leadership with arrogance, and who have apologized to Europe and the Mid-East for our arrogant actions that sacrificed 46,511 American lives now lying in 10 French cemeteries; 47,257 in 5 Belgian cemeteries; 20,124 in graveyards in Italy; and 4,280 in England.   Excuse those who demean the sacrifices made by our American men and women who have always been there to resist tyranny and protect liberty, and continue to guide our actions as you have in years passed.   We ask Thy blessings on our land, our people, our flag, and for all it means to be a free people.   Humbly, we bring our petitions to Thy throne.

Amen
