Good Neighbor Forum Panel to Include Jim Beers and Lyle Laverty

Two Department of Interior employees, one former and one present, will square off during the Good Neighbor Forum on March 15, 2008 at Little America in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

After 30 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Jim Beers was forced to retire. Why? He was a whistle-blower who discovered and exposed a misuse of funds within the department. A General Accounting Office audit verified that $45 to $60 million had been pilfered from the agency.

Mr. Lyle Laverty, a recent appointee to the Department of Interior as Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, has the grit, honesty and willingness to roll up his sleeves and work.

Good Neighbor Forum founder Roni Bell Sylvester, LaSalle, Colorado said the event is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in property rights issues to become more informed on key issues. “Both of these men have expressed their pleasure at being invited to appear as panelists during the Good Neighbor Forum. They know that healthy solutions are born from bringing all parties together, presenting all sides of an issue and stimulating productive dialogue. We’re proud to bring this exciting, educational opportunity forth.”
