This Wednesday, April 30, 2008 the Coalition is asking for everyone to load up and head to Denver to stop the exploitation of our children at the Colorado State Fair. We need EVERYONE at the meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the Colorado Department of Ag (address with agenda, below) and at the press conference, which will follow at the Colorado State Capitol at 1:00 pm. We have a bus booked to start in La Junta at Winter Livestock at 6:00 am. This bus will stop in Limon and load more people at the TA Truck Stop, approximately at 7:45 am. Please let me know if you plan to ride the bus, mvrkim@rural-com.com. We have this one chance to let the Colorado State Fair Board know that there are many people of the Coalition and that we are statewide and nationwide. Please call your neighbors immediately and help us stop the mandate for premises registration of our 4-H and FFA youth. After the press conference we will return back to that State Fair meeting, Colorado Dept. of Agriculture to watch them vote on the proposal to include breeding livestock to the mandate. In other words, kids that take breeding livestock only will also have to have a premises registration number in order to compete at the Colorado State Fair! Help us stop this "unbelievable" use of our children to get what the federal and state governmental officials want! We must fight for our freedoms! Kimmi Lewis CICA Vice President 719-384-4034 Colorado State Fair Commissioners Meeting (Agenda) (NOTE: There should be people from every county in Colorado at this meeting! After this meeting, at which we will give our testimonies, it's on to the Capital at 1 PM for the Press Conference, then back to the Department of Ag. We want to see them vote on the agenda item to expand the "premises registration" requirement to breeding livestock at the State Fair. The Fair Board has not followed their own Administrative Procedures Act and have been mandating rules incorrectly, which is how we got the first mandate. In other words, the mandate won't just be for junior livestock participants in market livestock projects, but also for breeding livestock. We must get "premises registration" requirements DROPPED at the State Fair!)
