Subject: Western Governors Association agenda
Since 2006, I've been involved with a national organization known as Good Neighbor Law. Good Neighbor Law members include anyone who wants to be a good neighbor, regardless their political or religious affiliation.
Because Good Neighbor is run solely by volunteers, I'm proud to say it is the purest, non-partisan "go-to" place for truth and facts on the world wide web.
We have contributing educators throughout the world - who, un-compensated... generously provide answers on how we can protect our land, water, livelihood, values, privacy, liberty, freedoms and family.
We have a particular passion for protecting our domestic resource providers; for they are the ones who provide our food, fuel and fiber, those important essentials to maintain life!
A country unable to feed, clothe and shelter itself, is a country vulnerable for takeover by entities who do not have your best interests in mind.
This is one of many reasons why we encourage an environment of civil discourse that...in a respectful manner of course...encourages DEBATE.
Since my retirement as Chief of the Colorado State Patrol, I was honored to accept the Chairmanship of Good Neighbor Law.
It is in this capacity I would like to bring to your attention an urgent matter that demands debate.
Today and tomorrow, the Western Governors Association is holding its annual meeting in Park City, UT. Even though the derivative of all policies slated for WGA discussion is "Combating Global Climate Change", we couldn't find any representative from the field of over one thousand scientists whose findings clearly prove it is the sun and other elements, not man, who makes the climate change.
Good Neighbor finds it unacceptable for policies to be born out of such un-founded claims.
WGA seeks to partnership in activating and monitoring policies on wildlife migration corridors, and wind energy transmission lines.
With unusually heavy involvement from activist environmental groups, they seek to designate energy corridors across federal and private lands. We could not find any counter balance to these extreme ideals. For those most impacted - like private property owners and those who have federal land use agreements, we could not find any representation on their agenda.
Because most non-governmental organizations (NGO's) and environmental groups including The Nature Conservancy receive government funding - translation "our taxpayer dollars" - as their significant source of income, we believe we have a right to know exactly how our money is being spent. In other words, we'd like to know- what is this government/NGO/environmental group partnership (a.k.a. "Partnership") up to?
Therefore, with that in mind, Good Neighbor Law demands WGA encourage debate on the following. Questions for WGA:
1) It is widely acknowledged that man does not cause the climate to change. Why are you using it as the focal point for the generation of your policies?
2) Will you demand Mr. Al Gore publicly debate any one of the thousand plus scientists who dispute his CO2 theory?
3) Will you demand a balanced debate of opposing climate change views before the house, senate?
4) Will you make a public release of any and all maps which outline your projected wild land corridor and your projected transmission lines?
5) Will you discourage. or encourage. government involvement to the extent of exercising eminent domain - or condemnation - on said lands that fall within your mapped areas?
6) Please make public each "Partnership" that receives government funds that you are affiliated with.
7) Please request each of these particular affiliations make public the amount of government monies received each year - beginning in 1997 through 2007.
8) Are you aware of any activity that you're engaged in that could be construed as an encouragement of a state to violate its constitution?
9) Are you aware of any activity that you're engaged in that could be construed as an encouragement of the federal government to usurp states rights and private rights?
10) Are you aware of any activity that you're engaged in that could be construed as a usurping of our legislative process?
11) Are you aware of any activity that you may or may not be engaged in that could be construed as a violation of a citizen's right to acquire, possess and protect their property; enjoy and defend their lives and liberties?
12) Are you aware of how much money domestic resource providers are being forced to spend, protecting themselves against their own government? As Alabama Ag commissioner Ron Sparks recently stated on Glenn Beck, "The agricultural industry is the most over-regulated industry of all."
Good Neighbor Law recommends to those who make public policy they ask first: Who wants the policy? Who will benefit from it? Who will be harmed by it? Who opposes it? Who will pay for it? Then they should always demand the opposers sit at the table together and publically debate...for the record.
As the Western Governors Association is holding its meetings, we ask they be mindful of - and use our recommendations.
It is the position of Good Neighbor Law, that no action - towards the making of any law - should be initiated until these things are first done: Idea is publicly debated; its need is proven; no existing law fitting is found; a full vote - not consensus - is taken.
We look forward to the answers to our questions from the Western Governors Association.
Thank you for your attention.
In helping to develop a world of good neighbors, I remain happy to answer your questions.
