Subject: Points to consider regarding TransCanada's Keystone Pipeline project - Roni Belle Sylvester, Volunteer Editor LAW USA |
1) Should lease the land - NOT acquisition; Annual payments to land owners, with commitment to full reclamation upon vacating. 2) Divert the pipeline away from the Oglala Aquifer in Nebraska. 3) Provide a complete "job breakout;" identify the number and length of time for employments that will be generated for "natives" within each state; How many Canadian jobs - how many U.S. jobs...length of employment should be factored in. 4) Honor states rights - as in; Gov. Heineman has authority to move the pipeline - and or block it all-together. 5) After refining, commit some of that oil to U.S. users - not ship ALL of it to China. Whomever makes these clarities, will take a strong "pro-job, pro-private property and states rights" stand, and serve America well! Drill in the U.S. There are enough resources here, to make America energy independent for at least 200 years. |
