Subject: Do we need title/deed reform?

La Salle involved in other disputes

The dispute between La Salle officials and the Valley Re-1 School Board regarding a bus stop location for Pete Mirich Elementary School, is one of several La Salle officials are engaged in that I’m personally aware of.

What purpose does La Salle serve, by objecting to honor an earlier Valley/La Salle agreement to the location for loading and unloading children from school buses?

Looks as though Valley keeps making “best efforts” to comply with La Salle officials in spite of their efforts to change their minds more often than an obsessive compulsive person changes underwear.

When the Colorado Department of Education re-established the initial location as safer than a newly proposed one by La Salle officials, that should have been the end of La Salle’s pursuit.

I have also been involved in a dispute with the town of La Salle.

The ongoing matter involves Land Title Company’s decision to use a pre-dated, unsigned agreement as the model to make up the buyer’s deed of some of my acreage. The true signed agreements carefully included my retaining my gas, oil and mineral rights. The pre-dated one was not only void of said GMO retention, it wasn’t even signed by me.

After spending more than $88,000 to properly move through the “Reformation of Deeds” with some 150-200 entities buyer sold parcels too, La Salle emerged the only entity who decided not to sign off, claiming instead (and I paraphrase), “Chuck Sylvester inadvertently gave away his Gas, Oil and Mineral Rights, and now he wants them back.”

We’re aware of other situations wherein people were interested in “setting up shop” in La Salle, but dealing with La Salle proved so nasty, they backed off.

It is my observation, La Salle is like that ill-bred person who, upon seeing an old lady drop a $5 bill, instead of returning it, grabs it up claiming, “It’s mine!”
