Common sense is what people in common would agree: that which they sense in common as their common natural understanding. Some use the phrase to refer to beliefs or propositions that in their opinion they consider would in most people's experience be prudent and of sound judgment, without dependence upon esoteric knowledge or study or research, but based upon what is believed to be knowledge held by people "in common", (NOTE: excerpt taken from Wikipedia)
So where is the common sense in the following examples? Where is the adherence to our sacred constitutional principles that stand between us and enslavement?
1. Borders that allow anyone who wants to enter into the United States illegally with no consequences and in fact with significant benefits for doing so, offered by our government, using our money, with the promise of amnesty for breaking our laws?
2. The U. S. Congress ratifying the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) that would essentially yield our very sovereignty to a foreign power, or powers? [NOTE: Be sure to read the e-mail sent to us from the international attorney on trades and standards, Lawrence Kogan, following this message.] Or click on: http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/ckincaid/2007/ck_10301.shtml
3. The U. S. House passing a bill into law that would turn over to the federal government, power over any and every wet spot in America under HB 2142, the so-called Clean Water Restoration Act?
4. The blatant propaganda by government, the media and a covey of national and international scientists over the dubious, if not trumped up, crisis of man-caused global warming?
5. College audiences that would applaud the President of a fascist government (Iran) and boo the founder of the Minute Man project, Jim Gilchrist, or other freedom-minded speakers. (Columbia University)
6. Halloween costumes for early teen girls that exploit their bodies and advance their sexuality way beyond their years, much of it while parents watch in silence?
7. Politicians and government agencies that lie and distort the truth to get our money for mega construction projects that bring a whole new meaning to cost overruns? (i.e. Boston's Big Dig and Seattle's Sound Transit, etc., etc., etc.) [NOTE: For those of you in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington State, Sound Transit (a government-run light rail agency) has spent close to three quarters of a million dollars in legal and other fees, taking a property they don't need by eminent domain from a Ken and Barbara Miller, so they don't have to pay the Miller's fair market value for it and reimburse them for their legal expenses. It's a very long and sad story and one that has now cost the Miller's close to $400,000. The story is not over.]
8. Environmental regulations with their origins coming from the United Nations, including Agenda 21, smart growth and sustainable development policies, that have now rendered constitutional safeguards and guarantees all but irrelevant?
9. The outlandish brainwashing and indoctrination of our K-12 and college-age children. Many college kids are now acting like Hitler's brown shirts.
10. Politicians who swear on solemn oath to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States, so help them God, and then go out and violate that oath every damn day?
11. Certain fairly noisy individuals and large groups in America that blame America first for everything and run down our faiths, our honor, our laws, our traditions and our virtues?
12. Legislatures that pass law, after law, after law, without any test of consequences or side effects, or how new laws are to mesh with old laws without conflict and contradiction? Laws that waste billions of our tax dollars without a reasonable and meaningful cost-benefit. Laws that hungry lawyers get to argue over for decades because they are the only ones that can understand them, so they say.
13. Government using eminent domain for other than a true government purpose?
14. Federal, state and local activist courts that MAKE law instead of interpreting law, pursuant to our constitution?
15. Government handouts and subsidies to individuals and entities that are fully capable of taking care of themselves. (Welfare, farm subsidies, etc., etc., etc.)
16. Political correctness that has literally gone berserk.
17. Airports that treat everyone as if they were a terrorist.
The list goes on and on and on and yet even though most of the people know that none of the above events, activities and injustices meet the test of common sense, still they rage on and get worse, while we look the other way. Thousands upon thousands of Americans are getting beat up by their government and hardly anyone lifts a finger to help them.
But don't take our word for it. Watch Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News each night at 6 PM, Pacific Time. He explains it all in living color with guests that know that the death of common sense has become a living reality.

For three and a half years we have written article after article, essay after essay and research paper after research paper, describing the non-common sense events we have outlined above to build up the National Association of Rural Landowners (NARLO). NARLO has taken action on local and national issues in the hopes of making a difference. Our words are reaching all across America. NARLO's No Trespassing signs now hang on fences, trees, posts and gates in 17 states. We spend almost seven days a week, week after week, month after month, in this effort. But mostly what we hear from our fairly large audience, is a frustrating silence. Out of this large audience, we have one man who believes so much in what we do that he sends us $25.00 per month. One man! And he can just barely afford it. Now a few others have given significantly to our efforts, and without their contributions, we would have to give up. We don't want to give up because what we are doing is the right thing to do for America. Who among you will join this one man and send us $25.00 a month, so that we can keep up this vital work?
Frankly, it is hard for us to imagine why any American would just stand by and do nothing, as freedom and liberty crumble all around them.
