The Siging of the Declaration of Independence

Rural landowners are not the play thing of cities, to be whipped around like a dog shaking a rag doll in his mouth. In a show of rural solidarity, we hereby make this declaration of our constitutional independence, from the tyranny of the majority.

For far too long voters in cities, that hold the majority of votes, have been electing governors, supreme court judges, attorney generals, legislators, commissioners, council members, mayors and other local, state and federal office holders that have a decided socialist and radical environmentalist mindset that breeds in the hearts of cities. These office holders promulgate or adjudicate law with this same socialist and radical environmentalist bias. Most environmental laws that are passed by legislators only affect rural landowners, while city folk get off virtually scot-free. The end result is that rural landowners are almost wholly disenfranchised from the process to govern their own affairs and control laws that affect their land and their livelihood.

For too many years now, legislators, administrators, regional planners, land use policy makers, along with their local, state and federal government bureaucrats, fiercely lobbied by wealthy environmental groups, have systematically engaged in a vicious, slow, agonizing, bit-by-bit unconstitutional TAKING of guaranteed and protected property rights under the 5th Amendment of the U. S. Constitution, for suburban rural and truly rural property owners, without DUE PROCESS, much less compensation for that TAKING. Their actions are requiring rural landowners to bear almost the entire burden of government's perverted idea of environmental protection, in violation of government's solemn oath to preserve, protect and defend the U. S. and state constitutions. Government's actions also deprive rural landowners of equal protection, as required by the 14th Amendment. Even the 4th Amendment that protects American citizens from unlawful search and seizures has been turned on its head, as "environmental police" fan out across rural lands in search of code violations, raising more money for their efforts in the form of "permits-for-everything", along with fines and penalties. What were normally civil cases in the past, are rapidly escalated into criminal cases if the rural landowner does not capitulate to the demands of the code enforcers, which can end up in extended incarceration. Many cases are brought to the attention of the code enforcers by so-called anonymous complaints (snitches). The millions of environmental laws on the books have turned neighbor against neighbor. If you have a beef with your neighbor, just call the code enforcer for alleged violations so you can GET your neighbor without their knowing who the snitch was. It's disgusting.

Government has performed these actions under their distorted interpretation of the police powers and by broadening the scope of UN-driven growth management policies, exponentially. The only reason they have been able to get away with it is because landowners have been too busy with their own lives to monitor and hold government accountable. But too many soldiers have sacrificed their lives, limbs and minds defending our treasured freedoms to allow government's actions to stand. A day of reckoning is at hand.

Government's egregious actions have stirred the deep anger of rural landowners throughout America and an uprising against the tyranny of the majority is brewing. To that end, NARLO is sponsoring a national DECLARATION OF RURAL INDEPENDENCE week, from Monday, June 30, 2008 through and including Sunday, July 6, 2008.

We encourage rural landowners all across America to join with us in this declaration of freedom from the city majority, to demonstrate just how important rural land is to the city's existence and to communicate to them in strong words and deeds that our disenfranchisement shall not stand. Rural landowners will come together on the week of our country's independence in the spirit of solidarity to stage a silent protest against the tyranny of the majority (cities) and their government counterparts that have sold rural landowners and this country, literally down the river.

Help us to move this message into every corner of rural America. Forward it to every landowner you know. Those that receive the forwards, forward it again to your lists. Soon, our message of a declaration of rural independence will sweep across America like a wind-driven grass fire. It is high time that the "real" America, the America that feeds and sustains the urban America, stands up for its rights and strongly resists the tyranny of the city majority in their constant efforts to subjugate the rural minority.

Let's just not think about it, let's do something, let's act. We can make a difference!
