Many of us are aware of the injustices being perpetrated on rural landowners who have the misfortune of being located near large cities. City folk, in love with environmental radicalism, see nothing wrong with usurping the property rights of suburban and rural landowners by electing legislators who see nothing wrong with passing environmental laws that only affect rural landowners, while city folk get off virtually scot-free. That's fair, isn't it? Hardly! The city folk have the mistaken mindset to call private rural land, "their" land. But what is largely forgotten is that some of these same city folk find nothing wrong with terrorizing remote rural landowners in our heartland, who have the misfortune of living near some area the environmentalists want to preserve, lobbying the government and using its legislative powers to get their way. They care not one whit about property rights. The care not one whit about the cost. They care not one whit about who they are hurting. They seem equally oblivious to the fact that their actions are blatantly illegal. But when it comes to radical environmentalism, the end always justifies the means, in their minds. In the dark of night, with stealth and cunning, they trespass on the private property of a farmer or rancher and cut fences, damage property, kill livestock, or burn down buildings. The goal is to drive the farmer and rancher out of what the enviro-viper's call, "their" wilderness area, and they give no thought to legal land deeds, allotments, property, or water rights. These envrio-vipers, as we call them, (snakes) are no better than the hoodlums of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) who spike trees, burn logging equipment, or torch buildings in which they believe research on animals is taking place, or set fire to buildings that aren't "green" enough for them. They are no better than the mideast jihadists who strike fanatical terror on innocent civilians, in the name of religion. Some of these zealots now rot in jail, thankfully. Perhaps, if these city-bred idiots paid the ultimate price for their deeds, there would be less incidences of them. Somewhere it is written that ....... "if there is no price for an illegal act, then it stands that there is no deterrence for others to commit the same acts." It is high time these eco-terrorists paid a high price for their acts. Chuck and Roni Sylvester, Colorado and Wyoming ranchers, are one of the many victims of the enviro-vipers. They are also the founders of the Good Neighbor Law (GNL) website and forum, located in Greeley, CO. Ten years ago, Mrs. Sylvester researched some of these incidents of violence and found that other ranchers in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and other states, were suffering similar fates. She put a few of these incidents down in an article which is reprinted on Good Neighbor Law. The article is long, but it is well worth reading. Each incident represents real persons and each is a short story in itself. The cruel reality is, if rural landowners, suburban, rural and remote alike, do not coalesce and fight this draconian regulation or eco-terrorism coming from the cities, and fight on a grand scale, or help those of us that are, they will surely be parted from all that they own by those who live in cities that care more about flora and fauna than they do about people, much less individual rights and property rights, supposedly guaranteed by our U. S. and state constitutions. This is exactly why we formed the National Association of Rural Landowners. We also want to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Sylvester for publishing many of our articles on their GNL website. If you are of a mind, be sure to pass this message on to others, so that they too can get a good look at the ugly face of "radical", in radical environmentalism. The history of the old west is a large and important part of the American Heritage. Many rural landowners still carry on the fine traditions of honor, integrity and honesty. They also believe very strongly in their property rights. If you would like to see some great art of the old West, click on the WESTERN ART link on the NARLO website.
