Ft. Collins rejects absurd ACLU plan
From: Liberty Counsel
Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman Liberty Counsel

I trust you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Here is an update on the proposal in Fort Collins,
Colorado, to ban red and green Christmas lights and religious displays.

Just before the Thanksgiving break, our legal team sent a strongly worded memorandum to the city council of Fort
Collins. Our memo clearly outlined how Fort Collins' proposed actions banning red and green lighting along
with religious displays would be a clear violation of the Constitution.

Our memo included specific notification of more than 50,000 citizen petitions we have received from friends like you
who are standing against such unconstitutional bans.

Well, I have some very good news for you. The Fort Collins city council voted overwhelmingly to reject a proposal influenced by an ACLU "volunteer" and to allow red and green Christmas lights. Plus, the city has decided to allow religious displays as part of its holiday celebrations.

In many ways, it was as if they were reading off the guidelines of our memorandum!

Thank you so much for standing with Liberty Counsel so we can respond immediately to attacks like this on our
faith and freedoms.

But this battle is far from over. Right now, our team is tracking dozens of cases and issues in which the celebration
of Christmas has come under attack.

If you haven't done so already, would you consider a special gift to help Liberty Counsel continue this fight?
