Winnett, MT (May 7, 2008) ~ The U.S. Cattlemen's Association (USCA) will host three cattle producer meetings in Montana on May 20 and 21, sponsored by Fort Dodge and The Wagner Vogele Team.

"This is an excellent opportunity for ranchers to hear directly from USCA's Director of Government Affairs, Jess Peterson, about the latest news from Capitol Hill," noted Judie Manuel, USCA Membership Chairman. "Farm bill legislation, global beef trade and the soon-to-be-implemented country of origin labeling law plus beef checkoff reform all impact our livelihoods in the cattle industry. It's important for ranchers to understand what's happening and be engaged in the policy-making process. We're pleased to host these meetings and give ranchers the opportunity to hear the facts, ask questions and have a voice. I urge everyone to attend."

On Tuesday, May 20 a meeting will be held at the Eagles in Lewistown, MT. A complimentary prime rib dinner will follow a no-host social beginning at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, May 21, at the Wrangler Bar and Café in Grass Range, a complimentary hamburger lunch will be served at noon.

On Wednesday, May 21, a complimentary steak fry will follow a no-host social at 5:00 p.m. at the Winnett Bar in Winnett, MT.

Featured speaker at all three events is Jess Peterson, USCA Director of Government Affairs.

Meals may be limited due to availability. For more information contact Judie Manuel at 406/429-7101.

Established in March 2007, USCA is committed to concentrating its efforts in Washington, DC to enhance and expand the cattle industry's voice on Capitol Hill. USCA has a full-time presence in Washington, giving cattle producers across the country a strong influence on policy development.
