Our nation’s economic growth may finish an anemic 2% on the year. More than 14 million Americans are unemployed, excluding the nearly 9 million who have been forced to take part-time jobs, or the 2.5 million who’ve given up on finding work.
As my commentary demonstrates, part of the solution to this unacceptable, demoralizing and unnecessary situation is literally right under our feet: the vast energy bounties that America is blessed with … but our politicians and regulators have kept locked up, unavailable to us.
Thank you for considering my article for publication on townhall.com

As Al Gore tries to plug holes in his sinking “manmade climate chaos” ship, self-styled “corporate social responsibility” activists are pressuring companies to endorse their global warming, sustainability, fair trade and organic farming agendas. Among the recent targets is the J M Smucker Company, maker of jams, syrups and coffees.
My commentary today eviscerates the Calvert and Trillium campaign against Smucker – shooting holes in many of their central assertions, and urging them to continue resisting the activist pressure. Staying the course, I argue, will protect the company’s growers, customers and bottom line alike. Paul

As EPA ramps up its campaign to enlist religious, minority and other groups to support its “mercury and air toxics” rules, it is important that someone really clear the air – by responding to the blatant disinformation … and outlining some of the ways these rules will hammer America’s economic, employment and healthcare systems. This commentary seeks to do that, by building on the articles that Dr. Willie Soon and I recently wrote. Thank you for considering it for MR. All the best, Paul

"United States" Defined by Danny Martinez
April 9, 2011
My column this week addresses something I never really thought I'd be compelled to deal with – especially in my young daughter … especially a mere two weeks after watching her play ferocious soccer in a three-day tournament, in 100-degree heat.
Leukemia. Cancer. The diagnosis hit like a ton of bricks. But as Amy said immediately after her diagnosis, “We’re going to fight this, together.” And we have, as a family.
A few months later, in the midst of her treatments, we met Ben Rubenstein, who gave me a copy of his book … which Amy and I both read. Especially for her, it was an eye-opening and life-transforming experience. When things got really tough a month later, it let her say, “If Ben can go through everything he’s had to deal with,” she said, “I can do this.” And she did.
Now I’d like to share Ben’s and Amy’s experiences and philosophies with your readers – in the hope that they too will be inspired to deal with life’s toughest challenges in the same courageous way.
Thank you for posting my article.
All the best,
Paul
